Modifications for the Elderly 

Many older adults have spent decades raising families in their homes and want to remain in the home where they’ve created so many cherished memories as long as they can.

While it may not be possible for an older adult to live independently forever, there are many changes that can be made to a home to make it safer and more functional for them to remain in their own homes longer.

Give me a call to schedule any of these or other needed modifications:

​

• Install grab bars by toilet, in bathtub/shower and by entry doors

• Install handheld shower head

• Assemble and place shower chair

• Install elevated toilet seat

• Install Bidet attachment to existing toilet     

• Upgrade existing fixtures with brighter LED light bulbs 

• Install motion activated lighting in hallways, on stairways & under bed rails

• Change door knobs to lever handles

• Change cabinet knobs to pulls

• Change faucet handles to lever style

• Install walkway railings and handrails

• Replace shelves in kitchen base cabinets with full extension roll outs

• Replace light switches with illuminated rocker switches

• Install temporary or permanent ramps

 

Monthly Check-Up: Consider signing up for our monthly maintenance check up. For a nominal fee, I will schedule a monthly visit to your home to check on our aging in place modifications and address any repair or maintenance concerns you have.

Block of Time Scheduling: If you have a number of smaller Aging in Place modifications, these are most economically handled by scheduling block(s) of time on one day or consecutive days. Advance scheduling of a 4 hour or 8 hour block of time saves 10% on labor costs!

Elderly Discount: To honor the memory of my late parents, my elderly, home bound or disabled customers receive 20% off my hourly labor charges.
